Ethical Investor is a publishing and events based company focussing on ethical investment, financial literacy, community finance and corporate responsibility. Central to Ethical Investor’s mission for 2007-08 was educating children in the field of financial literacy.

Michael Walsh, Executive Officer of Ethical Investor, successfully sought sponsorship for the initiative from the Bank of Queensland who were already involved in promoting financial literacy, through Operation Financial Literacy. The basis for the play is the National Consumer and Financial Literacy Framework drawn up in February 2006 by the Federal Government’s Ministerial Council on Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs. It is due to be incorporated into state curricula in 2008.

Paul Johnson, writer and director, was commissioned for the project because of his extensive and successful career in theatre-in-education, having produced over 30 plays through his former company, Brainstorm Productions.
